The Bike Kitchen had a benefit concert last night at the Echo. It was a blast.

Interbike 2011: Affinity/ Kissena Velo Fund

While at Interbike this year, we had the pleasure to meet and talk to Jason of Affinity Cycles.
We chatted about the Kissena Velo Fund and the huge plans they have to rebuild the Velo and create
a cycling center in and around it. Much like what is happening in Chicago. I think the best part is that
it's non profit and you can be apart of it by becoming a member and owning a piece of it.

This can happen here too. Encino anyone?

Details:
Affinity Cycles is proud to announce the creation of the Kissena Velo Fund. The Kissena Velo Fund
is a non-profit foundation dedicated to revitalizing the Kissena Velodrome into a world class
indoor 250 meter Velodrome and the home of the New York City Cycling Center and Museum.
This historic project will be a celebration of the bicycle and its racing heritage. NYC is at the forefront of the
global cycling culture and it is due time that our facilities reflected our position in the cycling community.
Let's build champions together. Stay tuned for more info about the fund, upcoming events and fundraisers.

Filming on FOR THE COUNTRY took place in April, 2011. Only a month earlier, on March 11, 2011, Japan was struck by a massive earthquake and tsunami that left nearly 20,000 people reported dead or missing. More than 800,000 homes were damaged or destroyed. Thousands of survivors are displaced and still living in temporary shelter.

Please take a moment to consider contributing to ongoing relief efforts. Mercy Corps, a Portland-based organization, works directly with Peace Winds Japan to provide on the ground assistance in affected areas.
